The Ludwig Milde Bassoon Quartet was founded in April 2020 by Clemens Baumkirchner, Matthäus Hauer, Simeon Körber, and Laura Rischanek. The four bassoonists met in the music department of the high school „Adalbert Stiftergymnasium“ in Linz and since their foundation, they have participated in numerous concerts, competitions, and events in Vorarlberg, Vienna, Burgenland, and Upper Austria. In 2022, they won the first prize at the Prima la Musica national competition and won the Musica Juventutis music competition in 2022. The quartet had lessons with Bernhard Krabatsch, Johannes Wregg, David Seidel, Leonard Eröd, and Karsten Nagel. The quartet chose the name Ludwig Milde, who composed numerous concert studies for bassoon and himself served as bassoonist in the Opera Orchestra in Linz, wich is now called the Bruckner Orchestra, for two years.
