Flume Quatuor
Zoé Beaudoin, flute & piccolo
Sara Di Costanzo, flute, alto flute & bass flute
Tom Filczinger, flute & piccolo
Lisa Kordic, flute
Composed of flutists from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the Flume Quartet was formed in September 2022 as part of chamber music classes. Very quickly, a strong bond developed between the four friends, inspiring them to develop an ambitious joint project outside of the academic setting.
Influenced from the outset by 20th and 21st century Belgian music, the members of the ensemble are committed to promoting the little-known repertoire of the flute quartet and introducing as many people as possible to the different facets of their instrument, in formations ranging from piccolo to bass flute. With this in mind, they offer varied concert programmes based on arrangements of great classics and original pieces.
The members of the Flume Quartet champion a vision of the flute quartet as a complete ensemble, rich in texture, and aim to bring it out of the background to which it is often relegated. They have therefore made it their mission to develop original repertoire by collaborating with contemporary composers. Through this approach, they are actively involved in the local and international music scene.
