Gardens are constructions that host the communion between the individual and nature over long periods of time and in a specific place. Within them unfolds a struggle between each gardener’s knowledge and taste, and the wild spirit of the plants. From this tension, a fragile memory is born — one that disappears when it is not cared for.

In contrast, the Floating Garden is nomadic, and its construction is brief and transitory. It invites the viewer — who is encouraged to modify, build, or dismantle the garden — to engage in a small act of collective memory, connected to the previous participant and with the next one in mind.

KASK & Conservatorium

KASK & Conservatorium presenteert muziek en beeldende kunst van studenten op het open grasveld van de Bijlokesite. Zes uiteenlopende installaties vormen samen een tijdelijk landschap gedurende de volledige Bijloke Wonderland periode. Op zaterdag 30 en zondag 31 augustus is er als afsluiter een muzikale interventie.
